Search Harrison County Court Records

The best starting point depends on the record type. Use the case search when the goal is a case number, party name, court, case status, or charge/disposition summary. Use the docket search when the goal is a court date. For certified copies, older files, paper documents, video, transcripts, and records not exposed online, contact the Office of Circuit Court Clerk. If the item is a deed, lien, mortgage, plat, recorded will, or marriage license, use the Harrison County Clerk and eCCLIX instead of the court case tools.

The Kentucky appellate public access system is a separate channel for higher courts. The Kentucky appellate public access portal is relevant when a Harrison County case has moved to the Kentucky Court of Appeals or Supreme Court of Kentucky. Trial court records still start with the local Circuit Court Clerk.

Some record terms need care. A disposition is the final outcome of a charge or case. A continuance means the hearing was moved. A conviction is a final finding or plea of guilt, while a charge is an accusation. Expungement is the legal process that removes or deletes qualifying records from official checks. These terms can decide whether a Harrison County court record is read as an open case, a dismissed charge, or a final judgment.
Harrison County Court Records Access
Kentucky public-record law supports access to public agency records, but trial court files are requested through the clerk of the court that heard the case. Expungement does not mean every private copy vanishes, and limited agencies may still have access for specific legal purposes.

The Harrison County Clerk is a separate office at 111 S. Main Street, Suite 102. Use that office for legal recordings, deeds, liens, plats, recorded wills, marriage licenses, and eCCLIX records from January 1, 1985 to current. Mixing those two offices is the most common search error: the court clerk has cases, while the county clerk has recorded county instruments.
